Scrub for the scalp: how does it work?

Scrubs are a class of products for deep cleansing of the skin, containing natural particles of various origins for exfoliation of dead cells. Such products are usually supplemented with natural oils, plant extracts, nourishing and moisturizing ingredients.
But

scalp scrub - what is it and do I need this product?

Let's see.

The scalp in its structure is not too different from the rest of the skin of our body. Just like the skin of the face, the scalp is divided into several types: dry, normal, oily (do not confuse this with hair types).

Scrub for the scalp is designed to exfoliate dead cells and stimulate cell renewal, improve microcirculation and cellular respiration, moisturize, and deliver nutrients.

- just like a body scrub.
A useful bonus: all these activities, with the proper use of a high-quality scrub, also improve hair growth, strengthen the hair follicle, make hair thicker and healthier.
Sounds fabulous? Let's take an example.

Meet the scrub-paste for the scalp from the line Magnesium Goods - HairMag Scrub.
The scrub has a soft, uniform texture of a pleasant mint color, has an unobtrusive delicate aroma and can serve as an independent head wash.

The basis of the product is a combination of sodium bicarbonate, cellulose and wood fiber granulate. The exfoliant of our scrub is small granules with soft edges.
HairMag Scrubcontains caring oils - pistachio, sunflower seeds, coconut oil components. They nourish and moisturize the scalp, saturate with the “correct” lipids, and contribute to the formation of a protective barrier on the hair against loss of moisture and shine.
Lecithin and vitamin E (tocopherol) nourish, enhance the protective function, moisturize, and promote cell renewal.
Magnesium chloride supplements the composition with anti-inflammatory properties, heals, restores, improves microcirculation and nourishes.

How to use the scrub correctly?
Moisturize your hair well. On the scalp apply scrub paste along the parting lines, parting the hair. With gentle massage movements, spread the scrub over the entire surface of the scalp, massage the scalp for 2-3 minutes.
There are 2 approaches to using a scalp scrub: scrub then shampoo and shampoo then scrub.

If the hair (and scalp) is slightly contaminated to your usual degree on the day of washing your hair, feel free to apply the scrub first. After self-massage, wash off the scrub with running water at a comfortable temperature, then apply shampoo, after - hair balm.
If your hair is more dirty than usual and/or contains styling products, or you are immediately after an active workout - in this case, it is better to first cleanse your hair and scalp with shampoo. Use HairMag Shampoo as usual, after rinsing off the shampoo, apply a scrub. Then apply HairMag Balsam.

If the hair is more or less fresh, you can wash your hair only with a scrub.

After washing off the scrub, be sure to apply a balm.

Hair becomes smooth, nourished, elastic even to the touch, as if after a course of specialized salon procedures.
A nice bonus: you can wash your hair less often, with regular use of the scrub, the scalp stays clean longer.

How often can I use a scalp scrub?
If you have oily or normal scalp, scrub can be used 2 times a week. If the scalp is prone to dryness or sensitive - add a scrub to your care no more than once every 7-10 days.
Product consumption is economical, our scrub lathers well and spreads easily.
You can't imagine your beauty routine without a scalp scrub once you try the HairMag Scrub
